Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit Challock Pimary School’s JustGiving page.

We are really excited to be taking part in this project which will allow our school to celebrate our children’s creativity and allow them to showcase their artwork.  We will be undertaking fundraising activities to raise a minimum of £575 to enable to us to purchase a Snowpup for the school.  As a school we are keen to provide our children with opportunities to develop their self-esteem and fundraising can help by increasing their confidence and giving them a sense of achievement and social responsibility by making a difference to their local community.

All our children will then be able to take part in a school-wide competition to create a design for the Snowpup.  This will then be decorated during the Summer term and our Snowpup will then be taken on tour to complement the main Snowdog trail, before it is returned permanently to the school in February 2019.

Many of us have, or know others that have, been affected by loss and bereavement and the Pilgrims Hospice provide help for people coping with incurable illness, and their families, to live well in every moment.  The majority of their funding comes from the local community and we believe, as a school, that we should support our local charities.

As part of the project our teaching staff will be provided with resources which will enable us gain a better understanding of how to support children who may have experienced the loss of a family member, friend or pet, and is in keeping with the story of James in the classic ‘The Snowman’ film and Billy in the television adaptation
of ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’.

Thank you for your support!
