Story

My story.... why am I swimming The English Channel?  Well .. I needed a challenge to keep me fit and out of trouble lol.

I have always loved swimming since a young girl and remember telling my late Uncle Freddy that I will swim the Channel one day!  That statement was obviously deeply buried but whilst dabbling in the world of triathlons I did a couple of open water swimming triathlons and fell in love with open water swimming.

Following an injury in June 2015 triathlons stopped.  Luckily, I stumbled across a new challenge of a Winter Swimming Gala that was taking place in February 2016, which meant swimming in just a costume, swim hat and goggles.   So in Sept 2015 I ditched my wetsuit and discovered my love of Winter Swimming and haven't looked back.   After one too many gins one evening in Sept 2016, I decided I was going to fulfil my  childhood dream of swimming the English Channel and set about the booking process and booked my slot for the 16 - 23 Sept 2018.

Only 9 months to go now eeekkkk!  ¦So time to get training
hard, lead a healthier lifestyle and raise lots of money for a fantastic
charity.  Please, if you can, no matter how small, make a small donation to motivate me even more to just keep swimming, knowing that each penny raised will help a great charity.

Thank you so much for reading my story and for making a donation.  I will keep you updated on training :-) x
