Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2022, while training for the Amsterdam half marathon, I was diagnosed with Stage 0 DCIS Breast Cancer. I had no symptoms and it was only picked up because I attended a mammogram appointment. 29 days after diagnosis, I underwent a mastectomy. I was not able to run for 6 weeks which I found very hard, but then I got back out there and I am now up to 10 miles!

I am very grateful for the Chartwell Cancer Trust because I was looked after in their unit at my local hospital, The Princess Royal Hospital, Farnborough, Orpington. The care I have received has been of the highest level.

I don't normally raise money when I do my races, but my half marathon in Amsterdam next month will mean that little bit more when I cross that finish line in the Olympic Stadium. I am very grateful for treatment that I have received and it's my way of saying thank you.
