Story
We have now returned from "the walk" which turned out to be a serious hike with few signposts!
It was seriously tough walking on massive tree roots, loose scree and wobbly stones along the hiking trail. Although we had trained for 4 months before we left nothing could have prepared us for the challenge.
But we managed to do all but 2 of the days - by this time I had pulled a ligament in my knee and even with pain killers and stretchy bandage it was impossible to continue.
Before closing the fundraising it would be lovely it we could get a few more donations.
Thank you all who contributed to Macmillan.

9 years ago David had cancer and Macmillan were so supportive in helping him recover and we are enormously grateful.
David saw the Alpe Adria Trail walk in an article in the National Geographical magazine last year and thought it would be a great way to get fit and raise money for Macmillan at the same time.
We have been training for the last couple of months and now are aiming to do a 13-15 mile walk each weekend......
The journey, which starts on 28th August with us flying to Ljubljana and taking a transfer to Kranjska Gora (taking in a visit to the castle and lunch at the scenic Lake Bled). The walk will take two weeks and is 160 miles ending in the Italian coastal city of Trieste. The good news is that our good friends Jan Campbell, Jane & Peter Sawyer and Frances & Alan Powell (we all in our 70s - apart from Jan who is much younger than we are at 64) will be joining us for the first week and walking 80 miles - leaving us in Cividale.
This means that we will be walking 11-14 miles a day and we have our fingers crossed that the temperature will not be unseasonably hot. Happy to report that our luggage is transported every day to the next hotel.
If I have the strength I will post a daily diary along the way on my Travel Counsellors's webpage....www.travelcounsellors.co.uk/bryony.hordern, Facebook and a blog I am about to set up.
It's going to be an amazing but extremely challenging trip and hopefully raising lots of money for Macmillan.
