Prudential RideLondon 2019

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2018 · 29 July 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Friends will know that my family and I spent the greater part of 2017 away from Glasgow, in London, to help my wife look after her mother, Laura, in her final illness.
I managed a few days in Glasgow now and then (collecting post, mowing the lawn etc) but my wife Ann was full time in London for eight months caring for her mother at her home.
Marie Curie, with their respite carers several nights a week, were invaluable in helping Ann and her mother through this ordeal.
The NHS, and the local St Christopher's hospice consultant who supervised the care, were of great help too.
Just as for my ride in 2018, when I also supported them, Marie Curie are connected to the Prudential RideLondon 100 event, and I am fundraising for them again at RideLondon 100 2019 on August 4th.
Please be as generous as you can! Caring for a terminally ill family member at home frees up time and space for those who need hospital or a hospice, and so Marie Curie have helped not only our family directly, as they do for many families, but also indirectly help free up bed space in hospital and hospice for those who have no other option.
Thank you Marie Curie!!
