Story

Official Sponsors of Guiness World Recod Attempt are Salford Metropolitan Athletics, Manchester Outfoor Fitnesss  and CBeec Toys, Arts and Crafts stationery.

St Ann's Hospice is a charity which cares for thousands of local people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses every year..

Everyone has their reasons for running. I started running after my mum sadly passed away to cancer also loosing my father-in-law, aunts and uncle and grandparents. After my mum passed away  I put my grief  into running challenges and fundraising.

St Anns cared for my mum, father in law, aunt and friends in their final days. I know St Anns hospice has touched so many people. The staff at St Anns do an amazing job. St Anns rely on raising £20,000 a day to keep the hospices doors open.

Everyone deserves to have the best quality of life possible. St Anns Hospice aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with a life-limiting illness, and to help maintain their dignity. St Anns provide specialist palliative care for people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses, at all stages of their illness.

They are not just focused on patients either. They recognise that it’s also a difficult time for relatives, carers and friends and St Anns provide support for them, too.

I always want to give something back to St Anns by doing running challenges and charity events.

All proceeds from my 80/90’s Disco night tickets will go to the hospice.

I am also continuing to run the Bolton Marathon in my Rubiks cube outfit even though the event has been cancelled.

I am running the London Marathon 2022 as a Pencil and trying to beat my Guiness world record time set in 2019 as a red crayon. Why a pencil? I am an secondary school art and design teacher so the costume fits. The training has proven difficult. The outfit is rigid below the knee besides running the distance without the costume.

I am so happy that my husband Stephen will be joining me on his first London Marathon this year 💪🏻 I know he has trained hard for this so any support would be fantastic.

I will also be fundraising  by doing crazy Strava challenges,  scratch cards, sweet sales to support the Hospice.

Fitting  in training around family and teaching had proven challenging. I know I will have the support from family, friends, Salford Mets and Manchester Outdoor Fitness 👍🏻

Please support me and my husband on our fundraising for  ST Anns Hospice. A charity  close to my heart ❤️
