Story
Team Marcus, Tom, Felix and Rowley are taking on a unique 700 mile challenge by cycling from the Bedingfeld Arms, Norfolk to the City of Bordeaux in France.
We are taking on this challenge in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK which is a charity close to us all. We would be hugely grateful for any donations big or small for this massively important charity.
We are kicking off on Friday 27th August from the Bedingfeld Arms heading towards Portsmouth for the overnight ferry on Saturday, with the remaining trip traveling south, down the western side of France.
We will keep you posted on how we get on throughout our journey.
Thank you all, and wish us luck.....we're going to need it!!!
Felix Parker:
Unfortunately, I lost my uncle to cancer 2 years ago. He was incredibly fit and healthy and it came as a huge shock to our family. Cancer rips open families and I’m incredibly grateful for all your donations supporting our Bedingfeld to Bordeaux challenge for Cancer Research. Their mission is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured and It’s a huge honour to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Marcus Fountaine:
Almost everyone has either been directly or indirectly affected by cancer. It’s a horrible disease that can strike at any age and have truly devastating impact on families. My dad lost his battle with leukaemia 15 years years ago, but even since then survivals rates have improved dramatically thanks to the funds raised over the last two decades. We are very honoured to be raising funds for this cause and any support you can give us will go directly to Cancer Resarch UK and help bring this brutal wrecker of lives & families to an end.
Tom Joly:
My Grandfather lived a very full life, but still suffered greatly in the end as a result of disease. I hope that the ride will raise funds in order to help others who are suffering, and also inspire people to stay healthy and prevent them from ever getting it in the first place.
Rowley Barclay:
My grandparents sadly suffered from this terrible disease in varying forms. We all go through life not knowing what is around the corner and when cancer strikes it devastates peoples lives and others around them. Cancer Research UK is a fantastic charity which everyone can relate to, and seeing positive results from the work that is carried out makes every penny worth it, for us today, and for future generations.
