Story
We are supporting the wonderful fundraising efforts of Cath McNicol and Carolyn Bean who run the Middlesbrough Powerchair Football Club, with a virtual raffle to bring them closer to their goal of buying a beach wheelchair.
Cath and Carolyn have set a target of £4000 which will pay for the
beach wheelchair and lockable storage box and they have already raised £742 towards their target
To give the ladies efforts a boost, we are asking you to help their appeal by purchasing tickets which are priced at three for £5. The raffle will be drawn on March 31st
** Please remember to add your name to the donation so that you can be included into the raffle **
The idea came to Cath and Carolyn following a stay at the Foundation’s Finlay’s Holiday Home (the disabled adapted caravan at Reighton Sands) last year.
Said Cath: “The caravan park has a long steep ramp to the beach
which has a short area of rougher ground before you reach the beautiful, sandy beach.
“I would like to raise enough money to buy a Hippocampe beach
wheelchair and lockable storage box for use by the families at the caravan, so they can make the most of their short break.”
Continued Cath: ‘’ Initially all I did was a guess the number of
sweets in the jar and sold items from a clear out. That went on hold over Christmas when restrictions due to the pandemic tightened again. My sister however has been busy making pebble art pictures. She has paid for the cost of making them; including the frames and postage herself, and is asking friends and family who ask for one for a donation to my Just Giving page instead. I’m ashamed to say she’s actually doing a better job of fundraising at the moment than I am!”
