This is our most audacious goal yet! We are on a mission to secure a piece of woodland here on the beautiful Isle of Wight to be designated as a sanctuary for red squirrels where they can live without disturbance or threat of tree felling etc..

Story

I will be in my 68th year when I have a final attempt to row across the Atlantic ocean unassisted. I don’t expect this is going to be a doddle, but given my age, this will probably be the final chance for me to row the Atlantic Ocean solo.

I am self-funding my row and have decided to continue to support a local charity, The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust, registered charity No: 1112374. Red squirrels are simply amazing animals, they are an endangered species and need our help to survive, please visit my website, www.AtlanticRower.com for more information.

I love Red Squirrels, rowing the Atlantic Ocean solo in a 25 foot boat always seemed like a good way to help the Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust raise the money they need to create a sanctuary for them.

The Isle of Wight is an important stronghold for the UK’s Red Squirrel population. The IOWRST with our help is trying to raise sufficient funds to purchase a piece of woodland for the protection, observation and to help educate current and future generations to ensure they do not face extinction.

I hope that you will support me in supporting them with a donation (big or small) to help protect the species for the pleasure of our children and our children’s children. Thank you.
