Story
In May 2023 I will be sailing around the British Isles in
my boat, the 'Sea Wanderer', to raise awareness and much needed money for this incredible charity.
I hope that my mission will be completed in about three months and I hope to visit as many of the Sue Ryder hospices and neurological care centres along the way, it at all possible.
For over 65 years Sue Ryder has supported people who areliving with a terminal illness, with a neurological condition or who have lost someone. They really are there when it matters. They do this in their hospices and care centres, in people’s homes and in the local community.
This challenge I have set myself is absolutely huge. The prospect of it is quite terrifying! However, while it is daunting I amdetermined to face it head on and raise as much money as I possibly can.
Here is how your donations help:
- £21 could pay for one hour of expert care,
helping people live the best life they possibly can. - £45 could provide one complementary therapy
session, such as massage, aromatherapy or reiki. - £60 could provide one session of bereavement
counselling for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one. - £500 could pay for a bed for a day of inpatient
care for a hospice patient - £3000 could pay for a hospice nurse for a month.
With warmest wishes
Mike Hopkins
