Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in February 1995 at the age of 13. I have dealt with the condition well but hold my head in shame that I have never participated in any fundraising. In February of this year exactly 21 years later our lives were turned upside down when our beautiful, brave four year old daughter Connie was also diagnosed with type 1. She is managing life with the illness doing daily injections, multiple finger pricks to check her sugar levels and frequent visits to the hospital. It's heartbreaking to see her having hypo's and feeling poorly. Regulating her levels is the hardest part. We just want Connie to be able to live a completely normal life and be able to do all the normal things that other children will do. Connie and I will forever inject and check our levels together. I am her support and mentor aswell as being her Mummy.
The least I can do for Connie who deals with FOUR injections a day at only FOUR years old is to do FOUR consecutive spin classes without stopping. This is the equivalent to two football matches with no half time breaks. Anything I can do to raise money for Diabetes research I will try my hardest to do for my daughters future.
