Pendleside Hospice is completely free of charge to patients,carers and families with life changing illnesses. Most of us will know someone who has received there charity run, care and treatments and as they are a registered charity they need all the help from the local community they can get. So please donate as much as you can so they can carry on with the fantastic work they do helping our community.....

Myself and Julie Pawson will be surviving in the Amazon jungle for 6 days. Our days will comprise of  kayaking down the river from Anamas with stoping around lunch time to set up camp . We will have to sleep in hammocks covered with insect nets as it is not safe to sleep on the ground at night due to all the poisonous insects,spiders,scorpions etc and also the winged insects and vampire bats hence the netting around us. The Amazon is not for the faint hearted lol. After setting up camp we will then go fishing for our tea ,hopefully this will not prove to difficult as the Amazon river is home to over 5600 species of fish many of which themselves have notoriety for example the Red Bellied Piranhas and the infamous Candiru knownfor swimming  up your wee and into your body ewwww.

We will then try to sleep through the noise of the night with an early start at 5 am to strike camp and repeat the process each day till reaching civilization near Manous.
