Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We like to think of ourselves as an adventurous bunch, but in June we’re really pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone by taking on one of the UK’s toughest walks, the Jurassic Coast Challenge, in aid of MIND – the mental health charity.
On 8 June 2019, we will be walking a whopping 52km (36miles) and climbing an ascent of 1,650m (5,413ft) across the spectacular Jurassic coast, England's only natural world heritage site. Starting off at Poole Harbour, our 10-strong team will take under a day to walk across famous landmarks including Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and then it’s up and down all the way to the finishing point in Weymouth.
We are raising money in support of MIND – a charity that is really close to the team’s heart. One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives and around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide. In order to participate in the challenge we have to raise £3000 and we need your help!
Whatever you are able to give, you will be making a real difference to people suffering from mental health issues.
- A donation of £3 could put MIND’s Find the Words guidebook in local GP surgeries, helping people to make the crucial first step of asking their doctor for support.
- A donation of £8 could answer a call to MIND’s Infoline, providing someone with vital support and information about help in their area.
- A donation of £21 could run MIND’s online peer support community Elefriends for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone
- A donation of £50 could help MIND campaign for better mental health services from the Government, so more people get the support they need, as soon as they need it.
So show your support for the ADPR Adventurers’ monumental Jurassic walking challenge and help us raise money for this amazing charity by donating what you can today!
Kate and James will also be running for MIND at the Brighton Marathon in April 2019.
