Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40. With only 12% of adults surviving for five years after diagnosis. 33 new people each day are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour.
As a family we know how destructive this type of cancer can be. I sadly lost my mum, Vicky (or Agg/Aggy) to an aggressive Glioblastoma (brain tumour) on the 20/12/2020 after she put up a brave 16 month fight against the cancer. In this time she went through 2 neurosurgeries, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Despite all the medical input and amazing work of the professionals involved in her care, for which we are forever grateful, mum still lost her battle. There is no definite cure for brain tumours.
Since then I have been on the look out for a worthy challenge to try and raise money to help find a cure or treatment against brain tumours. I've chosen Brain Tumour Research as my charity as their main focus is on just this. Fighting the cancer!
I will be completing the 105 mile challenge with my dad....hopefully we can get each other through it. The challenge takes us from east to west coast Scotland - running, cycling and kayaking a massive 105 miles across rough terrain (and massive hills!!) in one day. Please donate whatever you can to this incredible charity to fund their amazing work, so that no other families have to go through what we and more importantly my mum had to.
Thank you
