Story
Over July - September our offices will be limbering up to undertake four separate hikes to raise money for The Trussell Trust. As we find ourselves in the middle of a Cost of Living crisis, more and more families across the UK are being pushed beneath the breadline, with the use of foodbanks growing exponentially.
Between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK wide network distributed over 2.1 million emergency food parcels (832,000 of which went to children) to people in crisis - an increase of 14% compared to the same period two years prior. The Trussell Trust estimate that compared to this time five years ago, the need for food banks in their network has increased by 81%.
With this in mind our intrepid teams will be lacing up their hiking boots and hitting the hills, with various levels of hiking experience and fitness coming together for what should be some great days …. Weather permitting of course!
Our Aberdeen team will tackle Mount Keen, our Glasgow team will climb Ben Lomond, our Manchester team will be heading to Snowdonia and our Edinburgh team will aim to hit the summits of both East and West Lomond in one hike.
