We are running the Oxford Half in aid of Helen & Douglas House

Oxford Half Marathon 2021 · 17 October 2021 ·
Even during lockdown, Helen & Douglas House continues to support terminally ill children and their families so that they don't have to face the challenge of caring for or losing a child alone. However, to keep providing the care and love these families depend on, the hospice needs to find over £3.6 million a year.
Our reason for running is a personal one in memory of a special little girl, Evie, who was born with an undiagnosed life shortening condition. In just a few weeks life went from the excitement of welcoming a new baby to facing the pain of knowing her life was very different to the one being planned for.
Having Helen House step in and provide an opportunity to make memories and give Evie dignity is something that we will always be thankful for. The care she received throughout her short life from Helen House was exceptional and made one of the worst experiences any family can go through just a little bit easier. However, the care didn’t stop when Evie died at just 10 weeks old. Helen House have provided help every step of the way including specialist bereavement support for the whole family. No mean feat given what 2020 has thrown at us!
To support this amazing charity, Ellie (Evie's Mum) and Sarah have chosen to subject themselves to the challenge of completing the Oxford Half Marathon* in Evie's memory. So please support us by donating to our page as we attempt to do something slightly ridiculous to both remember Evie and raise vital cash to help them continue their work.
