Story
In September I will be walking The West Highland Way in support of Brain Tumour Research! This is a walk of over 150km spread across a few days.
I want to raise money for an amazing charity, very close to home.
My partner Lewis and I have been together for almost 7 years. During this time his mum, Alison was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
I’m walking for her and all the people affected by brain tumours.
Here’s a little more about Alison’s story: “In March 2016 I was sat at the work computer and a strange thing happened in my mind..Voices and sounds. This happened more often. Someone said Epilepsy and that could be NO driving!!! That comment left me in shock. In July 2016 my Dr sent me to Epilepsy Specialist and an MRI had shown a Grade 2 Brain Tumour. I was in horrendous shock. My life had changed forever”
After multiple operations, even some whilst being awake, Alison is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy for now a grade 3 tumour. She continues to work as counsellor for young people in a school down in Devon.
Alison is incredibly strong and loves her family so much!
