We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Ridgestone Physical was created by Jay Cramb in mid-2016 with a view to providing sports and remedial massage and therapeutic treatments for outdoor & extreme sports athletes, with an open door to anyone who was suffering from aches and pains or rehabilitating from injury.

In the year or so before Ridgestone Physical came into being, Jay had suffered from horrendous migraines and severe vision issues, which led to the diagnosis of a brain tumour in August 2015.  He was operated on just one week after his diagnosis, with a course of radiotherapy later that year.  The treatment was entirely successful and Jay has recently had this year's "still All Clear" results from the hospital.

However, he has also been left with some lifelong side-effects from the treatment, primarily a severely compromised hormone and immune system, and will be on medication to maintain these for the rest of his life.  And there is still uncertainty about how to progress effectively and return Jay to a good quality of life.  There is simply not enough information or research yet to ensure this.  At the time, he was 38.

From Brain Tumour Research:

Our vision is to find a cure for brain tumours.

Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.

We are building a network of experts in sustainable research at dedicated Centres of Excellence whilst influencing the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more nationally.

Help us fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
