Hi all, as you know most of the best ideas originate from conversations down the pub......and this one is a classic. Please read on!

Emergency baby care is something that is very dear to our hearts and because of this we have selected Milton Keynes Neonatal unit as our chosen charity. Our aim is to provide at least 2 baby heart monitoring machines to the ward which we know they are in desperate need of. This is why our target is so high but not unachievable with your help.

So to the challenge!

Our goal is to see if it's possible to make it to France on a personal watercraft, commonly known as a jet-ski or water-bike. My good friend Chris Kealy and I, will be captaining the vessels. On the 3rd June 2017 we are planning to launch from Rye harbour,  'sailing' to Boulogne and back again in the fastest time possible. As far as we know, or can research, this hasn't been attempted or achieved by many people. It's going to be quite a daunting task fraught with danger, not to mention the red tape, paperwork and worst of all still that unpredictable element called the weather!

Needless to say we have done our homework, a bit of training and are brave/stupid enough to take on this mammoth challenge.  

In case people don't know I'm not what you'd describe as an expert on a jet-ski.I purchased my second hand Waverunner in Dec 2016 and had my first go the day after Boxing Day. After only a few hours in the water I couldn't walk for a week! Chris, on the other hand, has age on his side and a little more experience than myself, but even still it's a huge challenge ahead with all the odds stacked against us. Due to this fact we have hired a small support boat, to 'hopefully' keep us out of trouble and get us back to land safely.
