Story
On 17 December 2014 I lost my mum to cholangiocarcinoma, better known as Bile duct cancer. This is a rare cancer with only one UK charity, AMMF, conducting research into fighting it, supporting those who suffer from it and offering support to everyone effected. They need as much money as possible to help ensure others don’t have to go through the same pain that my mum did.
She tackled her illness with unbelievable bravery, her characteristic dry sense of humor and without complaint. She was an inspirational lady throughout her entire life. As a teacher she helped many young people succeed and outside of work was always helping others.
So on her behalf its time for me to do my bit to help fight this awful disease. Mont Blanc is 15,800 feet high, so with your help I am going to try to raise £15,800 to go towards AMMF’s efforts to solve this form of cancer. I have paid for all logicistal costs involved in the climb so every penny you give will go straight to helping beat cancer.
I’m terrified of heights and not a massive climber at all so hopefully you’ll find the updates as I go through my training amusing and hopefully you’ll see some epic photos from the top of Europe come 20th May.
Helping others was at the heart of mum’s life, please dig deep and lend your support to anyone facing bile duct cancer now or in the future and let’s get to the top of Mont Blanc and raise £15,800.....or more!
Thank you, Phil.
