Story
In the summer 2022 it was confirmed my dad had Prostate a cancer. This was quite a blow to us as a family and a lot to take in. We looked at all the options available for the treatment, including visiting a specialist surgeon in Cambridge but decided to go ahead with Radiotherapy at the Christie’s in Macclesfield.
This turned out to be an excellent decision. My dad commenced treatment the 9th December 2022 and finished 5th January this year. The whole procedure from start to finish was faultless, the new facility at Macclesfield is an absolutely stunning and filled with all the latest technologies to fight Cancer. All the staff and so warm, friendly and genuinely care about you. They took the time to explain everything and answer questions to help put our minds at ease. The staff really did help take some of the stress away from what is a difficult time.
To try and say thanks to them and help fund raise to help more patients in the future I will be running the London marathon 2023! I’m lucky enough to have gained a general ballot place so every single penny raised will go to The Christie’s. Please give generously to help this wonderful charity.
The marathon will be challenging for me, I do normally enjoy 5-10km runs so I will be training hard to do you all proud on the day. Thanks for taking the time to read my story x
