Story
I am taking part in RideLondon 2022 for the first time and am looking forward to challenging myself to the 100 mile bike ride in support of Sight for Surrey who have been an invaluable source of support to Saskia (my stepdaughter) and our family as a whole over the past 2 and a half years.
It is a charity offering a lifetime of support for children and adults who are blind or partially sighted, deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing. They support and enable people to live full and independent lives which we have experienced first-hand.
Sight for Surrey have supported Saskia since her discharge from hospital in 2019 and they’ve been there every step of the way to help her adapt to living with both vision and hearing impairments. With their 1:1 support she is thriving at college, learning independence life skills and growing in confidence. She has also enjoyed joining group activities such as walking llamas and skin and makeup techniques where she has the opportunity to meet other young people with similar life experiences. They also offer both practical and psychological help to families as a whole, and we are keen to do what we can to promote and support their work.
A big thanks for your support and please do follow Instagram.com/cooperp76 for training updates and to check out my finishing time 🤞.
