Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This photo of Jayne (or Nicola) was taken at the start of May 2016. She was, as far as we knew at the time, 'fit as a fiddle'. However by the end of May we found out that she had cancer and by early June we were informed that it was spreading rapidly and there was little chance of survival. She quickly became seriously ill and spent the last 12 weeks of her life being cared for at the East Lancashire Hospice. Whilst there she received world class care in a loving environment delivered with great skill and compassion. This care gave Jayne back some of the dignity that her cancer had cruelly taken away. The hospice was also a much needed support for Jayne's immediate family.
The cancer proved to be too strong even for someone as fit and brave as Jayne and she passed away on 23rd September. This has left a huge hole in our lives and no words can describe our sense of loss.
We have such brilliant memories of Jayne, as a wife and soulmate of 30 years and mother to 2 boys, and friend to so many. We want to harness this love and raise some money in memory of Jayne for the East Lancashire Hospice so that other families in the future can benefit from this fantastic caring place in their time of need. Along with some friends we are raising sponsorship money for our cycle ride. We are going to do 53 miles which represents Jayne's age when she fell ill and passed away.
Please help us reach our target.
