Story

We’ve only ever trekked bar to bar but on the 16th April 2022 it will be my Dad’s 10 year anniversary and also mine and Hannah’s first mountaineering experience!

We’re taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peak challenge in 12 hours 🤞🏼 to raise money for a charity close to our hearts: St Lukes Hospice.

Dad was diagnosed with Cancer in 2011 and undoubtedly faced every challenge, set back and hurdle with strength, optimism, bravery and might.

Dad spent a significant time at St Lukes and our family will always be grateful for the exceptional holistic care they provided throughout his final days. As a result his health improved so I am forever in debt to the staff team for buying us some extra time with Dad; it is these precious memories that have sourced some comfort during the last 10 years.

Nothing was ever too much for the doctors, nurses and staff. From letting family members sleep on the floor with offers of  midnight snacks, emotional support and care alongside their routine medical duties.

Dad even got the opportunity to safely attend Hillsborough to watch his beloved Sheffield Wednesday play one last time and this was all thanks to St Lukes and their medical team.

The pandemic hit St Lukes really hard involving shop closures and event cancellations so it is a fitting time to do our bit!

If we can crawl around 3 peaks (and not get side tracked in a pub) as half as strong willed as my Dad tackled cancer, we’ll be proud. Please donate what you can so that more patients and their families can experience the same level of care as we did.

Thank you!

(Up the peaks and up the owls!)
