Hi, I'm Nathan and i'm 14,
On Saturday 5th August 2017 i abseiled 262 feet from the Arcelor-Mittal Orbit the UK’s tallest sculpture to raise money for Fight for Sight.
Fight for Sight are a charity that does research into different eye conditions to help the patients that are suffering from any one of the 100+ eye conditions like i am. To find out more about the charity copy the link: http://www.fightforsight.org.uk/
"Someone in the world goes blind every five seconds, Our mission is to stop sight loss in its tracks. By funding pioneering eye research, we're creating a future everyone can see. We rely on the support of incredible fundraisers and donors." - Fight for Sight.
I am raising money for Fight for Sight because i actually suffer from a eye condition called Keratoconus myself and the money i raise will go into research for Keratoconus.
Keratoconus is a condition that affects the cornea, the clear front surface of the eye. The cornea becomes thinner and more cone-shaped over time, instead of having a rounder curve. The change of shape causes blurred and distorted vision. To find out more about Keratoconus copy this link : http://www.moorfields.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/uploads/documents/Keratoconus.pdf
I was diagnosed with Keratoconus a few years ago now and since then I have been under 3 different hospitals and have had a C3R operation procedure on both of my eyes. I am raising money for Fight for Sight to provide help in research into the eye condition that I suffer with.
Please donate and help me exceed my goal to help support the eye research into a rare condition that i have.
Thank You for reading,
Nathan :-)
