Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was born at St Thomas' hospital in London on 28th June 2006 because my doctors knew I had major heart problems; a co-artation of the Aorta, a hypoplastic arch and a ventral septal defect, as well as a bi-cuspid valve where it should be tri-cuspid & an additional vena cavaI was very lively at birth and surprisingly well. As I was a tiny 4lb 11oz, the doctors wanted me to gain strength before my surgery so I stayed in PICU for six days to allow me to establish feeding and grow stronger.
At six days old I had my heart repaired. I was very poorly immediately after surgery and my chest could not be closed,as the doctors were worried the pressure would stop my heart. I had a second procedure to fit a temporary pacemaker as they could not get my heart into rhythm. Several days later my chest was closed and pacemaker removed. Against the odds I pulled through. My heart still sings its own little song, not like a normal heart but it beats well! I live life to the full; I ride horses, do ballet & Tap dancing, love judo and swimming and love helping others. I have regular check ups to make sure my murmur is no worse and that the song my heart sings is keeping a pace with me!
I would like to raise money for the Evelina Children's Heart Organisation as they supported our family before my birth and still support me and my family now and many other children and family's like ours.
