Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community and focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. We are campaigning to increase the national investment in research to £35 million per year and funding sustainable Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

As many of you may know, in 2018 my family suffered the loss of our darling Carys, my niece. At 8 years old she sadly lost the battle with cancer, after being diagnosed with DIPG, a type of brain cancer which predominantly affects children and for which there is currently no cure.

She was the most beautiful, kind, gentle & funny little girl and she is missed dearly. I think of her all the time and always knew I would do something to raise money in her memory.

I have decided to raise money for Brain Tumour Research as their funds support research trials across the UK. Carys’s life was extended due to her involvement in a trial and I am immensely grateful for the time we got with her. I hope other families will be able to benefit in this way and that we can work towards a cure.

I have set myself a challenge for this fundraiser and it is to climb 12 mountains in 2022. I hope to be able to achieve this by doing one a month and expect most if not all of them to be in the UK! As they say, heaven is a little bit closer at the top of a mountain.

Any donation will be gratefully received. Thank you for taking the time to read this and be sure to message me any of your best mountains or tips!
