Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

In April I will be running the London Marathon for Brain Tumour Research to raise as much money and awareness as I can for this important, yet underfunded cause.

Having worked in cancer research for a number of years, I have witnessed the impact a diagnosis has on the person and their friends & family, but despite this, nothing can ever really prepare you for when it happens to someone you love. It was therefore overwhelmingly shocking when my lovely best friend Abi was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour when we were only 24 - a time to be living your best life worry-free.

Abs is the kindest, most positive person in the world and although having gone through the most turbulent of years and now living with a brain tumour, she remains the biggest ray of sunshine there is. Abs is an inspiration to everyone and my reason for running the marathon.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% (!) of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. At the current rate of spending, it could take 100 years for brain cancer to catch up with the developments other cancer areas have made.

So please help me raise as much money as possible to fund vital research and bring us closer to finding a cure.

Thank you so much.
