Story
**UPDATE** - A huge and emotional thank you to everyone who donated. The marathon was an incredible experience, and it was an honour to represent Rainbows and run in memory of Laura, raising over £3000. You are all heroes for donating to such a wonderful cause, so a heartfelt thank you from me, and thank you to Rainbow's Hospice for Children and Young People for the opportunity and for everything you do to help people in a time of need 💙🌈 The memory of Laura Peaty will always live on and we will never forget her. Thank you, Katt xxx
Thank you for visiting my page. I will be running the 2024 London Marathon in memory of my brave and beautiful friend Laura Peaty, who we lost in 2013. All donations will be going to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, who did an incredible job of looking after Laura. 🌈
Just after we graduated from university, my friend Laura became unwell and was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour. I joined Team Rainbows as I wanted to raise awareness of all the fantastic work they do, and to thank them for everything they did for Laura towards the end of her life. They were absolutely incredible and I will be forever grateful for the warmth, support, and light that they provided for her during her time with them. Your donation will be going to a wonderful charity, who make these extremely difficult times just that little bit lighter for the life-limited children and young people in their care.
It goes without saying that this event and the sponsors will mean the world to me, to Laura's dad Chris, her brother's, her friends, and her family. But it will also help Rainbows keep up the amazing work they do supporting people through some of the toughest times of their life.
Thank you for reading, and you can find more about the incredible work Rainbows Hospice do below.
For Laura Peaty 💙 We miss you.

Team Rainbows are running together in the most iconic marathon in the world.Sadly, some children just don't live long enough. As the East Midlands only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Our incredible team of people help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end. Please visit www.rainbows.co.uk to see what we do and hear from some of the families that we support. Rainbows is a place where children can laugh, play and make every precious moment count, while families already bereaved are supported through the toughest times. Because of you and other supporters like you, a family will be able to make special memories they will cherish forever and bring a smile to their childs face as they laugh and play. Please help the team brighten short lives - thank you
