I’m hoping to raise funds for Starlight in memory of my son Oliver, who was born on 16th April 2016.  A day later following his undiagnosed footling breech birth, my wife Jenna and I were left heartbroken as our first born son passed away in our arms. 

Since Oliver passed away I’ve been thinking of a way to honour his memory and celebrate his life.

This year marks his 5th Birthday and I’ve finally decided on a challenge that I hope he’d be proud of.  I live in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and following nearly a year of planning and some training I’m going to attempt to row around the island in a kids one man dinghy.  I hope to complete my challenge before the end of June this year; the specific date will be determined by the weather and tides!

I've chosen Starlight for many reasons, mainly as I wanted to raise funds for a children's charity to help families make memories when time is precious. Both my wife and I feel very blessed that we were able to spend a day with our son before he passed away, memories we will treasure forever.
