Story
For all of those of you that know me I am probably the least likely to run a half marathon but a few months ago I had a moment of madness and entered the Royal Parks Half Marathon being held on Sunday 9 October in memory of my oldest and dearest friend, Kim Mawby.
I met Kim when I was about eight years old and we become firm friends and this continued until her passing at the very young age of 45. Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 but with the help of the wonderful doctors and nurses at The Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital she was offered the opportunity to trial a 'wonder' drug that gave her an extra five years of quality life that enabled her to spend extra valuable time with her fantastic two sons, Josh and Sam and her partner Gavin.
Not a day goes passed when I do not think of her and I miss her terribly.
At least she is having a little chuckle to herself now watching me train through sweat and tears for the half marathon. I am sure she will be looking down on me on the day and helping me to cross the finishing line!.
I want to raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthwhile charity and I am so grateful for anything that you can donate.
Wish me luck and I will just be happy to complete this! Kim this is for you xxx
