Story
PLEASE check out this charity and the BRILLIANT work they do.
My challenge in 2016 is to cycle 12,000 miles - 1,000 miles every month, with a cumulative ascent of 1 million feet. This will mean for 365 days, rain or shine, hail and snow, I'll have to average 2740 feet of ascent and 33 miles every day. Miss a day and the miles and feet carry forward!
To put this challenge into perspective...
12,000 miles is:
the north pole to the south pole,
70 times Manchester to London,
103 laps of the M25,
1,500 miles MORE than a direct flight from London to Sydney, Australia!
1 million feet is:
34.5 times the height of Everest FROM SEA LEVEL,
2,200 ascents of the Great Pyramid of Giza... (average of 6 ascents every day),
All my rides are recorded with two high-tech sports GPS trackers, which log day, time, position, distance, speed, heart rate and altitude gain.
