St Mary's Northchurch is a grade one listed church, some of it dates back to Saxon times. It has been suffering from a leaky roof for several years now and this year we are almost ready to do the repairs.

Just one last push with Historic Churches Trust bike and Hike yesterday should help us pay the architect fees.

Brian and I are both OAPs now so we do not know how many more years we have got left in us. We gave it everything we have got. We cycled up some of the biggest hills in Beds, Herts and Bucks, including Tom’s hill which leads into Aldbury. We visited 29 churches, cycled 46 miles and rose to an elevation of 2,380.

In the meantime our team of dedicated volunteers manned St Mary’s providing refreshments and encouragement to about 36 participants.
