Not everyone has the unconditional support of close friends & family.  Not everyone has a supportive network of weird & wonderful people on t'Internet who can't possibly be REAL friends. Not everyone wakes up having a day of possibilities to look forward to. Not everyone can bear the pain of battling through what they believe will be yet another awful day. 

The Samaritans are there for everyone. 24/7. Without judgement or time constraints. You might never need to call them. But I can guarantee if you are reading this page you aren't more than two degrees of separation away from somebody who has or should have or will. It's that close to home. I could never cope with the responsibility which comes of sitting on their end of the phone, but I CAN run to help the people braver than me continue to do just that and to spread awareness of the selfless, anonymous work they do.
