Event: SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018, on 9 September 2018
We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

I've signed up to do the Great North Run for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, after hearing all about what they do for people from someone who works there. They are fully reliant on donations to run the charity and keep going, so it needs people like myself to help fund them.

Barclays have kindly agreed to match any funding I do, pound for pound, so anything put through here will effectively be doubled.

As those who know me (and have played football/rugby with me over the years) I'm not a huge fan of running, so going from running a couple of miles to getting up to the 13 miles has been pretty tough, as has the recent heatwave! Any donations will be massively appreciated, and really help me keep going during these training runs.

Thanks for taking the time to view my page.

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
