We provide vital care and support to all those affected by a blood cancer.

Story

Originally I was planning to ski to the North Pole in April 2015 but in pre trip medical in December 2014 that my wonderful wife insisted I had they found an issue in my blood and soon after I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia and immediately started chemotherapy.

That was a pretty life changing event and I had to postpone my trip to the Pole - fortunately the amazing  team at Polar Explorers www.polarexplorers.com especially Annie and Eric, and Charlotte at Arctic Direct www.arcticdirect.co.uk  who held a place open until I was fit enough to make the trip even though this time I'm flying rather than skiing the whole way.

So now I am heading for the North Pole in April to achieve my goal despite the Leukaemia and the daily chemotherapy. My form of Leukaemia may be incurable  but it is treatable and by getting the pole I want prove to myself and others that I can lead a reasonably normal life.

Leukaemia Care provide invaluable support to patients and their families and I would be very grateful if you could donate anything no matter how small to help fund their work.
