Story

Charlie/Dad/Grandad - was the most wonderful man and loved by so many. Dad filled our lives with positivity, adventure and joy; even the routine was a pleasure in his company. He put others first at every opportunity and cared deeply about their issues. Dad was always there for us, interested, caring and loving. He was wise council for patients, family and friends blending his experience, knowledge, good judgment with his innate kindness. He was a shining example of how to conduct one’s life with honour and integrity whilst unassumingly creating happiness and lasting positivity in every encounter. A truly exceptional person, he will never be forgotten.

The Duchess of Kent Sue Ryder hospice in Reading allowed Dad to have the dignified and peaceful end to his life that he deserved. He was surrounded by family, visited by friends and looked after by experienced and caring doctors, nurses and other professionals. Dad was so grateful for what this meant to him, and to us. He was keen that we support them in continuing to do the wonderful work that they do. Thank you from Charlie/Dad/Grandad.
