Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
After completing this year's London Marathon, I was compelled (?!) to enter the New York Marathon with my aim to complete all the major marathons before i'm 30! I normally compete in half marathons including Bath, Bristol, & Swindon this year, but decided to increase the distance due to the guilt of spending four years of drinking and sleeping (and work) at uni!
This time I have decided to support Cancer Research UK. More than one in three of us will develop cancer at some stage in our lives. Few of us go through life without coming into contact with the disease in some way including some of my friends and most recently my relatives.
There are over 200 different types of cancer that can occur anywhere in the body. They all have different causes, different symptoms and require different types of treatment. Cancers develop because of a complicated interaction between our genes, our environment and chance. Cancer Research UK is dedicated to research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer. Their annual scientific spend is more than £213 million, which is raised almost entirely through public donations. Thanks to research, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. But there is much more we need to do which is why I am asking you to donate so subsequent generations can benefit. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
