We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

In 2018, I lost my beloved Grandfather, Emlyn. 🌻❤️He had the unbelievable power of bringing light and laughter to any room, always singing or whistling as he went. He treasured time with his growing family; a wonderful wife, three children, seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His ability to tell stories of the past was only limited by the amount of time on a clock. It is for these reasons and in his memory that I want to fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society UK.

Everybody has their own connection to Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Someone develops it every three minutes in the UK and currently, there is no cure. Dementia does not only affect the individual, but the family too, so it is vital that support is provided to the thousands of people in need.

Those of you who know me, even only a little, will know that I find running or indeed any form of fitness far from enjoyable!! Saying this, I’m prepared to put myself out there and have a go at the 42km Jurassic Coastline challenge if it can provide support to people who are currently experiencing what our family have done in the past.

Donating anything you can, little or large, can make the difference. Thank you, from me and my family to you and yours.

Let the countdown begin! (16.05.2021)

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
