Story
Hello!
My name is Amy Yeates and I have been selected to volunteer as a teaching assistant in Malaysia with Project Trust from January to August 2017.
Project Trust provides opportunities for selected 17-19 year olds to volunteer in 22 countries throughout Asia, Africa and the Americas. I have always wished to volunteer overseas, as I believe it is important to be a global citizen, to actively engage with the world and help to
make it a more just and sustainable place.
My project in Malaysia will involve assisting teaching English in lessons in schools. I will also be a one on one tutor in evening sessions, helping children with their homework and offering additional support.
However, to be able for this opportunity to happen, I need to raise £5,500! To raise money I plan to stage a concert, a sponsored walk along the Birmingham to Worcester Canal (30 miles) and have a ceilidh. If you are interested in any of these events, let me know and I will also keep you updated with my progress on this page.
I would very much appreciate it if you would donate, no matter how small, to fund my 8 months away next year. Project Trust has helped many young people like me in the past and I hope you will do the same.
Thank you in advance for all your support towards my 8 months educational volunteering project in 2017.
Many thanks,
Amy Yeates
