Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running my very first marathon in memory of Gorgeous Gabe. Gabe was a little boy with multiple disabilities, I first met Gabe when he was nine months old after joining the family to become their Nanny.
Before Gabe was born scans showed that his brain wasn't developing properly and it was thought that if he survived birth he would be severely disabled. Gabe was a fighter and determined to give him every chance his family discovered Rainbow House.
Rainbow House provides conductive education (special education and rehabilitation) the aim is to help each individual achieve their full potential. For Gabe his journey started at 7 months old at baby boot camp before joining sessions twice weekly from 11 months. I took Gabe each week to one of his weekly sessions it was lovely to see him progress, his achievements may have been small for example being able to lift his head up but for Gabe, his family and myself they were huge. Rainbow House also helped me to learn new skills enabling me to continue to help Gabe progress outside of conducive education. I got to meet some truly amazing and inspirational conductors, parents and most important children.
Gabe sadly was unable to keep fighting and on 22nd February 2016 he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, he will always hold a special place in my heart and I feel very privileged to have been part of his life.
