In August 2011, I will take part in the Mongol Derby: the longest and toughest horse race in the world. One thousand kilometres of Mongolian wilderness, galloping ponies and overwhelming hospitality. Ten life-changing days. 

 

But there's more in life than me. There's good to be done. The Derby's official charity is Mercy Corps Mongolia, who implement economic development projects in rural Mongolia. They help herders access markets, business expertise and each other in order to secure a sustainable and meaningful livelihood.
