Story
Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
The picture you see to the left is me approaching Greenwhich park for the London Marathon 2011...not to run it but to greet my amazing runners who were taking part with Team Variety.
For the past two years, I have been working at the Variety Club and among other things I look after the Marathon team. I have listened to their amazing training stories, discussed their nerves and handed out many hugs before the race. Then I stand, cheer and watch them with absolute pride and welcome them back once they have crossed the finish line. Team Variety have inspired me and so I promised myself that I would join them in 2012....so here I am, preparing to run the London Marathon and raise money for the cause I work for.
Have a look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWt1H3q9ETI&feature=channel_video_title and you will see how important the work is that we do here at the Variety Club.
As a Charity, our objective is to increase a child’s independence, level of confidence and self esteem. We also aim to increase physical health, communication skills and very importantly enable them to spend more time together with their friends and family. I have been lucky enough to meet some of the children who we help, including Sam and I am humbled every single time.
You may think I sound a tad cheesy as I do work for the Charity, but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe in what we do. Every child, whatever their disability or background deserves a chance to achieve what they want to achieve and your donation will help us to continue helping them...
Thank you so much for your support - Bring on 2012!!
Love, Frankie xxx
I will also be doing a training blog, so keep an eye out for that...x
