Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On October 18th 2009 I am going to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in memory of my Dad, John Armour. I've been puffed in by a good friend, Martin Gibbs, who's a very good runner and he did the Cardiff Half Marathon last year. I'm very pleased to see him on here as my first sponsor.
My dad died from Cancer, Mesothelioma, in 2000 and I have a website dedicated to his memory - www.formydad.co.uk
I have raised nearly £15,000 for Cancer Research UK through Triathlons but I have not competed since 2006.
I have never been a runner and in fact the longest run I have ever done is 5 miles. The triathlons I've done were only Sprint events where the run leg is just 5K and my 5K time in 2006 was 34mins!
So the thought of doing a Half Marathon fills me full of fear and dread!
But to raise some more money for Cancer Research UK in memory of my Dad, to help prevent others from having to suffer like he did, definitely makes this a worthwhile challenge.
Please help by supporting me.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much for your support.
UPDATE: 5th June 2009
