My Solo Channel Swim
To all my sponsors, thank you for your continuing support and belief in me.
*YOU CAN'T CLIMB EVEREST IN A SNOWSTORM*
Due to high winds my attempt last year, had to be postponed again! at the very last minute - and again, and AGAIN, AND AGAIN!!!
I completed my six hour qualifying swim in Gozo, Malta, last year - that's just a training session now!
Please sponsor my Solo Channel Swim attempt in August 2009 - It will be my 51st birthday we are celebrating this time! It's been my life-long ambition to swim the Channel and it has taken me four/five years of punishing training. With the encouragement of my exceptional trainers - Freda Streeter,Mark Shepherd - I'm absolutely determined to meet this extraordinary challenge if it takes me till I'm 61!
Swimming has been a focus in my life for as long as I can remember - winning my first race at the age of 8; swimming for the Brighton Shiverers; for my County and later at an International level.
I want to thank Freda Streeter and Brighton Swimming Club (Open Water) for their wonderful support and encouragement, particularly Keith Marlton - "Poseidon".
I'm dedicating my Channel Swim to my nephew, Owen, who has Autism. Your sponsorship money will go directly to the charity - "Treating Autism" - which has helped him, his parents and so many others like them by raising awareness, offering support and encouraging research into biomedical approaches for the treatment of Autism.
Donating here is simple, fast and secure and is the most efficient way to sponsor me: Treating Autism will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Please sponsor my Channel Swim!
Thank you so much for your support.
