Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Having missed the first 6 weeks of my 16 week training schedule due to foot problems, a second marathon was not looking promising ( I guess my body was groaning at the prospect- I decided not to listen). After lots of Physio I am now back on track and raring to go. I finished my longest training run of 22 miles yesterday
( through snow and wind!) and with three weeks to go am now starting to taper, thank goodness.
Deciding which charity to run for was not difficult. Just over a year ago, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He is not alone, over 700,000 people in the UK have dementia. More than half have Alzheimer's disease. In less than 20 years, over one million people will have dementia, soaring to 1.7 million people by 2050. The Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. The funds you will help to raise will enable the Society to continue its work to provide information and support for people with all types of dementia and those who care for them. The Society runs quality care services, funds research, advises professionals and campaigns for improved health and social care and greater public understanding and awareness of dementia.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
