Story
On the 9th of June 2020 my father Andy Latham was given the terminal diagnosis of Myelofibrosis which is a type of Leukaemia. Faced with unenviable odds we set out as family to raise awareness of the rare condition and the ways it can be treated. As things stand Dad has been given 16 months but being the ever optimistic (and stubborn) man he is, he has decided that hes taking his condition into extra time. This is how we came up with ExtraTime4Andy. As a very proud son I will do all I can to help him by raising awareness of his condition, its treatments and the charities which are leading the fight against blood cancers.
If we can find him a Stem Cell Donor his chances of 5 years is 67% which is the difference in him meeting more grandchildren, seeing me get married, seeing me buy my first house and making many more wonderful memories. If you are aged between 16-30 please look at signing up as a donor here at my Dad's personalised URL. http://www.anthonynolan.org/ExtraTime4Andy
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
