Story
Having finally recovered from the last fund raising effort undertaken by the lads at ERFC - the 2004 Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, the bug to challenge ourselves and raise funds for an excellent cause and one close to our hearts has bitten again.
This challenge is to climb the 3 highest peaks in the United Kingdom, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all in 24 hours. As much a logistical challenge as a physical one, this attempt will be made, starting on the evening of June 3rd, aiming to complete Ben Nevis before darkness, travelling through the night to Scafell Pike for an early morning ascent, before moving on to Snowdon for the final stage, racing against the clock and failing bodies to complete within the 24 hour deadline.
The Myton Hospice has been agreed by the team as the choice for our fundraising purpose. Professor David Keen, father to one of our team members and supporter of Earlsdon RFC, was cared for at Myton Hospice before passing away in 2006. The care and dignity offered by the special service that Myton Hospice offers the people who walk through their doors, is one to be appreciated. The team performing this challenge all value the care that Myton Hospice gave to Professor David Keen. We hope you also support this good cause and donate generously.
Please note that all money raised is being given to The Myton Hospice. Look on the bright side, it will only be another 7 years before we bother you again!
