Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Team Poppyfields. In 2014 we were going to exercise everyday until we had exercised 33,817 miles being the distance from Tamworth to the Equator - all the way around the world - then back to Tamworth via BCH! I got a bit carried away with sightseeing so by the end of February we have topped 35,000 already. We should be back to Tamworth after another 10,000 miles or so and then we will convert this to a challenge to exercise enough miles in 2014 to get to the moon! 217,000 miles (600 miles per day).

We will run, cycle, swim, dance, crawl, rollerskate, walk, skip, ski, row, stilt walk and gambole until we get there!

We will do this inspired by Poppy who has battled a brain tumour with the help of BCH since she was 14 months old. She has had 4 operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and the last op on St George's day in 2012 removed 99.9% of the remaining tumour. The money raised will go directly to the research and treatment of child brain tumours at BCH.

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital.
