We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

The Challenge

Friday 18th July will see the four of us, David and Richard Gladman, Andrew Britton and John Gamson will turn the first pedal on the adventure to cycle between the furthest points on the British mainland. Why? Mainly to fulfil a long-held ambition for David (and to stop him nagging about doing it); Richard needs an excuse to get into cycling and get fit; Andrew and John have always fancied it and are always up for a challenge.

However, despite the loose reasons above, we are putting ourselves through this torture to raise money for the very worthwhile work undertaken by the charity on the left of this page. We kindly ask you to donate however much you can afford to encourage us, help to pick us up through those dark moments, and support the charity we are championing.

Your donation will contribute to the extremely valuable work undertaken by Habitat for Humanity around the world, including in the UK. Your donation will also be specifically directed towards a project in an area of South Africa severely afflicted by AIDS, where clean, decent housing is urgently needed for the children who have been orphaned as a result of the virus.

Thank you for your support.

Richard, David, Andrew and John

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
